Dr. Adrienne

Psychologist. Speaker. Consultant. Educator. Author. Advocate. Storyteller.

Dr. Adrienne is a psychologist, speaker, and catalyst for transformation who doesn’t just talk about resilience, she embodies it.

Dr. Adrienne Fletcher is a psychologist, international speaker, consultant, educator, author, and advocate whose work brings together professional expertise, lived experience, and a deeply human understanding of what it means to survive, heal, evolve, and begin again.

Her career has never followed a straight line—and today, she considers that one of its greatest strengths.

Dr. Adrienne earned her master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University and later completed both a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology. In 2026, she completed the Women’s Leadership Program at Yale School of Management. She is EMDR Certified, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and previously served as President of the Scottsdale Psychological Society.

Her professional experience has crossed behavioral health, veteran care, private practice, clinical supervision and consultation, organizational leadership, trauma education, advocacy, writing, and media. After years of providing psychotherapy, Dr. Adrienne stepped away from clinical practice in 2023. She is no longer accepting psychotherapy patients.

Today, her work is expanding far beyond the therapy room.

If you are seeking an elite speaker, strategic consultant, or transformational guide who brings both unmatched clinical authority and deeply integrated human mastery into the room, you are invited to connect.

Dr. Adrienne’s Story

Expertise Meets Lived Experience

Dr. Adrienne also lives with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

After publicly disclosing her diagnosis in 2021, she began bringing something uncommon to conversations about complex trauma and dissociation: the perspective of a psychologist who has also experienced treatment, dissociation, parts, integration, and healing from the inside.

That intersection has become central to her work.

Her advocacy challenges professionals to think beyond diagnostic criteria and textbook descriptions and to consider the lived human experience behind them. She speaks openly about therapeutic relationships, choice and autonomy in treatment, lowering unnecessary power differentials, welcoming all parts of a person into the therapeutic space, and understanding integration as a deeply personal process rather than a clinical endpoint imposed from the outside.

Her writing and advocacy have appeared across professional and public platforms, and her work continues to reach clinicians, survivors, families, and communities in the United States and internationally.

Speaking, Consultation & Education

Dr. Adrienne speaks and consults with clinicians, organizations, professional associations, educational institutions, and communities seeking a more nuanced understanding of trauma, dissociation, DID, therapeutic relationships, leadership, and lived experience.

Her approach combines clinical knowledge with the lessons that can only come from having sat on both sides of the therapeutic relationship.

She offers select individual and group consultation, professional training, workshops, keynote presentations, and organizational education. As her work continues to evolve, her focus is increasingly shifting toward group consultation, training programs, speaking engagements, and larger-scale media and educational initiatives.

Whether she is speaking to clinicians, students, organizational leaders, or a general audience, the goal remains the same: to make complicated human experiences more understandable without removing the humanity from them.

Writing, Media & Storytelling

Dr. Adrienne is also a writer and increasingly a storyteller across mediums.

Her work has explored trauma, dissociation, integration, grief, identity, relationships, leadership, healing, and reinvention. Her writing includes professional publications, personal essays, poetry, and projects created for children and families.

Her children's book project, The Adventures of A & Rockette, grew from an unexpected intersection between healing, creativity, and inner-child work. The manuscript and its companion projects—including a trauma-informed coloring book and affirmation card deck—are currently paused from independent production while publishing opportunities are explored.

She is also entering a new chapter of storytelling through media and film, with an interest in bringing complex human stories to audiences beyond the traditional boundaries of psychology.

For Dr. Adrienne, storytelling is not separate from advocacy. It is another way of helping people feel seen.

A Career and Life in Evolution

In 2026, she legally changed her first name from Adrian to Adrienne.

The change was deeply personal and represented identity, integration, reclamation, and the freedom to choose who she wanted to become. Earlier publications, media appearances, and professional records under Dr. Adrian Fletcher represent the same person and body of work.

Today, Dr. Adrienne's work exists at the intersection of psychology, lived experience, leadership, advocacy, creativity, and storytelling.

She is less interested in fitting neatly into one professional box than she is in asking where her experience can be useful and what becomes possible when we allow ourselves to evolve beyond the identities that once defined us.

THE LIVED TRUTH BEHIND THE EXPERTISE

The most sophisticated audiences can instinctively feel the difference between theory and truth. Dr. Adrienne does not speak from textbooks or clinical detachment. She speaks from the raw, integrated intersection of world-class clinical acumen and deeply human survival. A survivor of ritual abuse, Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), and a 13-year childhood history of human trafficking, she publicly stepped forward in 2021 to challenge systemic stigma and pioneer more honest, survivor-informed conversations across psychology, media, and executive leadership. Yet, her understanding of human behavior was shaped long before graduate school. As a mob daughter raised adjacent to organized crime, Dr. Adrienne developed an early, razor-sharp understanding of silence, loyalty, hidden systems, image, and power dynamics. This unconventional background gifted her an uncanny, intuitive ability to read exactly what lives beneath the surface of high achievement:

The grief beneath perfection.

The fear beneath power.

The loneliness beneath success.

The nervous system beneath the smile.

The Evolution of Wisdom

Her story is not one of flawless performance. It is one of continuous, courageous becoming. Having lost her father to cirrhosis at age 20, surviving a life-altering medical crisis in 2016, and losing her mother to pancreatic cancer in 2018, her capacity for grief and resilience is deeply earned.

Most recently, the years between 2023 and 2026 became the most transformative and emotionally defining chapter of her life.

What appeared externally as massive expansion, global visibility, and professional evolution was privately a season of profound unraveling, truth-telling, and emotional reckoning. These years demanded that she release the very patterns built around survival, over performance, hyper-independence, and the exhausting need to prove herself.

It was a time of intense testing, but it ultimately softened her. Not a softness of weakness, but softness as ultimate wisdom. It deepened her capacity for absolute presence, fierce emotional honesty, and unshakeable self-trust.

That earned safety is now the centerpiece of her work. It is the reason why highly influential individuals and organizations feel an immediate, profound sense of liberation and safety in her presence.

BEYOND THE BIO

There is much more to Dr. Adrienne than the credentials, publications, and professional work.

She grew up on the East Coast before relocating to Arizona to pursue her doctoral degree—a move that became nearly two decades of building a career and a life in the desert. Since then, life has taken her through chapters she never could have planned: time in England, Northern Arizona, and even an experience in a tiny-home living along California’s Central Coast. Eventually, she became less interested in knowing exactly where she was supposed to land and more willing to follow her heart and intuition.

That journey ultimately brought her to Santa Barbara, California, where she is beginning another chapter alongside her partner and her Yorkie, Rockette.

At 45, Dr. Adrienne is endlessly curious, a little unconventional, and increasingly willing to follow what lights her up. She loves the ocean, looking for sea glass, art, music, animals, writing, meaningful conversations, childlike wonder, and experiences that remind her there is still so much of life left to discover. She believes in intuition, chosen family, second chapters, and leaving a little room for the woo.

After spending much of her life learning how to survive, she is interested in something much bigger now: learning how to live.

For Dr. Adrienne, that means slowing down, being present, listening, loving deeply, creating things that matter to her heart, taking chances on dreams that don't always make sense on paper, and giving herself permission to keep becoming.

She doesn't know exactly where this next chapter will lead.

For the first time in her life, she doesn't need to.

She's having a lot of fun finding out.

Name & Identity

In August 2026, Dr. Adrienne Fletcher legally changed her first name from Adrian to Adrienne. The change represents a deeply personal reclamation of identity and reflects the continued evolution and integration of her lived and professional experiences.

Earlier publications, media appearances, academic records, and professional work may appear under the name Dr. Adrian Fletcher. These references belong to the same psychologist and body of work.

Adrienne is not a new professional identity—it is the name she chose for the next chapter of her life and work.
